Robert Guerrero may be a lot of things but practicing what he preaches isn’t one of his character traits, according to Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather, 36, called Gurrero, 30, a hypocrite during Wednesday’s media day. The pretty boy stated, “A lot of times you see guys that are hypocrites,” Mayweather said. “Like you got a guy who’s always preaching like he’s a preacher, like he loves God more than anyone else…you got this guy that’s going to the 700 Club, acting like he’s a pastor, but he got caught with a gun and he’s got Marilyn Monroe on his wall at his house.”
Technically, Guerrero isn’t a hypocrite because there is no reference to guns in the Bible. But in Mayweather’s defense our society isn’t conformable with religious individuals possessing guns, therefore, it’s easy to judge Guerrero and call him a hypocrite.
But unlike Guerrero, Mayweather avoids hypocrisy because he always practices what he preaches.
On April 3rd Mayweather’s 30 Days of May aired on Showtime and in typical Mayweather fashion he intelligently expressed his favor of polygamy by comparing women to cars. He stated:
“Even though you can’t drive ten cars at one time, you got people that got ten cars. So, you’re able to keep maintenance on ten cars. So, I feel that as far as it comes to females, that same thing should apply. If you’re able to take care of 20, then you should have 20.”
His womanizing statement shouldn’t be surprising. Let’s not forget that Mayweather served two months of a three month sentence for domestic battery that occurred in 2010. The victim, Josie Harris, claims that his violent behavior initially started back in 2003 when he punched and kicked her inside of a Bentley in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to beating her, Mayweather threatened her life on different occasions by saying, “I’m going to kill you.”
In addition to physically abusing women, Mayweather psychologically damages them as well. Mayweather’s girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, stated that she agrees with Mayweather’s way of thinking.
“I’m not the jealous type,” said Jackson. “I know who I am and I know where I stand. I just feel like when you have that type of relationship where you can be open and honest, I just think it helps the trust and it helps keep things new and fresh. So, it [infidelity] doesn’t bother me and it’s never bothered me. I just think when you let a man be him, he will respect you that much to not disrespect you.”
Jackson’s definition of disrespect has clearly been smeared by Mayweather. Unfortunately, we may never know if her blurry vision was acquired voluntarily.
Floyd’s decision to be a woman beater and polygamy supporter is incredibly worse than Guerrero’s decision to tote an unloaded gun around, especially when states allow residents to possess gun permits. “The pot calling the kettle black” would be an understatement in this situation, and Mayweather’s attempt to call Guerrero a hypocrite doesn’t hold much weight.
